With vintage pieces, plenty of times. Can't remember a time when it happened with a "modern" watch that I've owned. Either way, it's a simple repair. Pull the stem, lock it on a pin vice, screw on the crown and tighten down. Put the stem back into the movement and it's done. I gently pulled the crown out and the entire stem came out. I put the crown back in right after and it seems to have reattached and is winding, and I can change time/date. Is this an issue with setting that needs to be serviced? I was changing the date to the 1st and now the crown won't screw back in. I've been wanting to get it serviced but I have no local AD or boutique shops near me (Anchorage, AK.)

The salesman was quite embarrassed. Today I received a recently "serviced" vintage Omega Deville watch from an online vintage watch dealer. Upon opening the package, I started to wind the crown. When winding, I heard rough noises and stopped. Then as I tried to pull out the crown, it popped out of the case entirely with ease.
